Fuego LT has a ZAION V carbon-fiber body, not the nylon-based plastic in other manufacturers’ reels at this price point. The new Fuego stands alone in the marketplace at this price. You also get some weight reduction (3%–5%) as a result of this material design change.

Fuego also uses an Airdrive rotor, which reduces quite a bit of weight. Daiwa also incorporated a solid Airdrive bail versus a tubular design. The reason for that is that the metal Daiwa uses is very strong, rigid, and doesn’t bend—yet it’s thinner and lighter. The goal was to reduce the weight of the rotation, which reduces the weight of the reel as well. It also makes it easier to turn the handle.

Daiwa’s innovative bail design features a hollow tubular stainless steel bail that delivers maximum rigidity and strength with minimum weight. Featuring a smooth, protrusion-free design and construction, the line easily slides unencumbered along the Air Bail towards the line roller for trouble-free line control.
